Offer description

We are looking for a reliable and kind-hearted Male Support Worker to join our friendly team in Muscliff, supporting Joe, a young man who lives independently in his own home.

Please note: A Genuine Occupational Requirement applies under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This role is therefore only open to male candidates, referring to the sex legally assigned at birth.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

About the Role
Joe is in his late twenties and lives in Muscliff. He relies on PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), hand signs and gestures, which helps him connect with staff in his own way.
Joe enjoys a range of activities, such as:
* Enjoying a day out at the local farm where he can meet the animals.
* Going to the park to reach new heights on the swings.
* Travelling on the chain ferry across to Swanage for the day.
* On quieter days, Joe challenges himself to tackle new puzzles and completes them in record time!
As a valued member of our team, your role will involve a mix of meaningful support - from helping with daily routines like food preparation, shopping, and personal care, to accompanying residents as they access the community and pursue their interests. You may also assist with administering medication to ensure their wellbeing.
Hours:
24 hours per week
This would be a mixture of shifts Monday – Sunday, with hours ranging between 7am – 10pm
This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment)

Why join us?
* Blue Light discount card
* A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
* Sleep in rate between £50 - £80
* Overtime available at competitive rates
* 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
* The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you’ve passed your probation period.
* All colleagues have access to an internal learning portal so you can increase your skills and knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
* Cycle to work scheme
* Up to 33 days annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays)
* A generous employee referral scheme – you can earn £400 for each person you successfully refer!
* Benefits portal which gives you access to money off your favourite shops, restaurants, and great days out, along with a cashback healthcare plan for general day-to-day healthcare such as optical and dental.
* A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family and legal information.
* We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support you in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.
