Responsible to Head Baker
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Production Baker to support the daily operations of a busy bakehouse. This role is ideal for someone with strong baking experience who is ready to take on a lead role, ensuring Creative Gardens high-quality products are consistently produced while working for the head baker and also supporting the wider bakehouse team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Helps lead day-to-day baking tasks as per production list and instruction from head baker
2. Mixing doughs, batters, and pastry
3. Producing breads, traybakes, cakes, scones, desserts etc.
4. Helps with oven management and baking schedules
5. Monitoring product quality
6. Supporting the Head Baker
7. Training more junior staff
Essential
8. Proven experience in a professional bakery environment
9. Strong knowledge of bread, pastry, desserts and cake production
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
11. Good organisational and time management skills
12. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
13. Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
14. Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings
15. Available to work 5 days per week, approx. 40 hours
Desirable
16. Formal baking or culinary qualification
17. Experience using commercial bakery equipment
18. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations ( HACCP)
19. Passion for baking and the Creative Gardens Food Co brand
