We’re supporting a brilliant specialist school in Gateshead that caters for children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. They’re looking for a caring and proactive Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.

Your role will include:
5. Providing 1:1 and group support for children with SEMH needs
6. Helping pupils regulate emotions, develop resilience, and engage with learning
7. Assisting with behaviour strategies and personalised support plans
8. Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure consistency and care
What we’re looking for:
9. Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (school or care setting)
10. A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills
12. A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers and succeed
