_Experienced Bus Driver (Full or Part time)_
Grant Palmer is Bedfordshire’s family owned bus company since 1999. We provide a mixture of public bus services, corporate contract work and school transport. We’re forward thinking and motivated to create the best experience for our staff and customers - spending over £2million in new buses since 2016 and constantly investing in our staff and people.
What makes driving for GPL different, is that our family touch allows you to have a fixed rest pattern- establishing a better quality of life for our drivers. Our buses return to the depot before 2030 with most finishing after the evening peak- no more late trips around the Lakes estate or long delays on the motorway.
Our full-time four-day week gives you a great work life balance. Work is only ever scheduled Monday to Saturday- Sundays are voluntary and paid at an enhanced rate. We’re also accepting applications for part time, school bus and zero hour contract drivers.
Our network of rural and interurban bus services are great to drive with a variety of work in our duties. We operate from two depots in Flitwick and Biggleswade- a short 20-minute drive from Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes.
When you join our team you’ll be part of the family and the team here will work thoroughly to support your needs. You’ll be offered a choice of rota and entered in to a tailored training plan. We look after our staff with BUPA healthcare- giving you money towards your prescriptions, routine dental appointments and opticians. We pay £15.80 per hour across the week. (Effective from 1st September 2025) Overtime is kept available for those who want it.
For experienced double deck bus drivers we offer the chance to join our busway lions team. Driving on the Luton and Dunstable busway, you’ll be transporting thousands of people on our popular CX, C and Hi services. You’ll have experience of driving double decker buses, 2 years clean PCV driving and exemplary customer service. We’ll provide you comprehensive one on one training as well as enhanced pay rates (£17.30 per hour Monday to Saturday).
