We're recruiting: Public Law/Serious Injury Paralegal
Our Public Law and Serious Injury team is growing, and we are seeking a talented and compassionate Paralegal to join us at our Nottingham office. If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of clients affected by negligence, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
You will be working on very high-profile Inquiries and Inquests.
* Assist in the day-to-day management of Inquiries and Inquest work
* Conduct thorough legal research
* Draft legal documents, including letters of claim, statements of case, and other correspondence
* Liaise with clients, barristers, medical professionals, experts, and other parties to gather necessary information and documentation
* Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and updated
* Provide administrative support to the team, including preparing and managing court/tribunal bundles, organising client meetings, and maintaining case timelines
* Travel to attend client meetings and hearings where appropriate
Skills, experience and attributes
* A keen interest in serious injury / clinical negligence and public law, with a genuine desire to help clients
* Experience supporting work on public inquiries would be advantageous, though not essential
* Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in public law, personal injury, or clinical negligence is highly desirable
* Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients and medical professionals
* Proactive and able to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
* Empathy, professionalism, and a client-focused approach to all aspects of your work
* A law degree or equivalent legal qualification (e.g., LPC or CILEx) is preferred but not essential
* Previous experience in clinical negligence or personal injury law would be an advantage
