About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Portal Buildings team in the Greatworth to Southam Area.
The Section Engineer manages junior engineers, assists the Sub Agent in construction operations, and reports directly to the Sub Agent. The role involves supervising the site engineering team from construction to close out, providing support with temporary works design schemes, liaising with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials, and ensuring works meet required standards, programme and budget.
The engineer will manage the site setting‑out team, oversee the performance and development of Site Engineers, and identify and resolve technical problems in liaison with the Sub‑Agent. The role includes monitoring and coordinating subcontractors to ensure their work complies with contractual requirements and assisting with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and financial forecasting.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent, with professional membership (ICE) in progress.
* Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities and construction supervision skills.
* Essential experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage.
* Own transport to attend remote site locations.
* Full driving licence required.
* SMSTS or SSSTS health & safety certification.
* CSCS card (White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced; Black – Manager; Gold – Supervisor).
