We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Director to join our FS Audit team. You will lead audit engagements, ensuring high standards from planning to completion, sign audit opinions, and manage relationships with senior stakeholders. You may also contribute to departmental operations such as finance, technology, or quality management.
As a Director, you will model leadership, facilitate effective audit delivery, supervise staff, and manage performance development.
Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing audit planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure quality and profitability.
* Leading and reviewing team work, providing coaching and mentorship.
* Managing project timelines, team coordination, and stakeholder communication.
* Handling financial aspects of engagements including fee negotiations.
* Making judgments on complex audit issues and overseeing technical communication.
* Reviewing deliverables and representing the firm at audit committee meetings.
* Leading audit tenders and managing team performance and development.
Technical competencies required:
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and KPMG methodologies.
* Proficiency in audit tools and technology.
* Professional skepticism, risk assessment, and audit evidence evaluation skills.

Experience & Knowledge:
* Significant recent experience as a Director in external audit, with familiarity in controls testing, consolidations, and statutory review.
* Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and International Standards on Auditing.
* Experience with US GAAS, PCOAB, and US GAAP is desirable.
* Proven ability to manage complex audits and lead teams.
