Job Description:
Please note this is not a Bath & North East Somerset Council Vacancy.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to join the Town Council’s Youth Service!
You will engage and support young people to access advice and guidance and additional support where needed with a view to improving their current and future outcomes, ensure opportunities for inclusion, positive choices, emotional wellbeing, keeping themselves safe and reducing the risk of exploitation or harm. This role will require at least three face-to-face sessions per week. Occasional additional hours may be required to meet needs, e.g., holiday activities, outings, and other sessions as needed.
Keynsham is a thriving market town within the Bath and North East Somerset Council area. The Town Council serves a population of approximately 19,000 with expected growth in the coming years.
In addition to a wide range of facilities managed by the Council, it is working to expand and improve its Youth Service provision and team.
About the role:
Keynsham Town Council seeks a responsible individual to work with the Town Clerk and the Youth Strategy Working Group to develop and deliver a progressive work programme in a safe and supportive environment, providing development opportunities and activities for young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 with special needs).
The Senior Youth Worker will collaborate with the Youth Strategy Working Group to create a Strategic Plan for youth work in Keynsham and surrounding areas.
After approval of the Strategic Plan, the Senior Youth Worker will plan, develop, and manage youth services on behalf of the Town Council’s Youth Service (TimeOut), working with other providers as needed.
Our Youth Team aims to bridge understanding between the community and young people, highlighting issues affecting youth as advocates within the wider community.
