Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of our dispensary. You'll tailor conversations with every customer to help them feel informed and confident about their healthcare needs, while maintaining a professional and organised environment.
Responsibilities
* Dispensing outpatient and blister pack prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
* Managing stock, including rotation and ordering, and liaising with procurement teams.
* Processing private prescriptions and handling associated documentation.
* Supporting the training of new pharmacy assistants.
* Ensuring compliance with SSL policies and standard operating procedures.
* Dispense prescriptions accurately for inpatients and outpatient clinics and will assist in a range of other dispensary related duties as required.
* Carry out a medicines top‑up service on wards and assist with other medicines related duties such as medicines expiry checks, stock checks and returning medicines.
* Receiving deliveries of pharmaceutical goods to support the store person.
Qualifications
Essential
* Good general education to include Science, Maths and English at grades A* to C. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience accredited by GPhC.

Essential
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, methodical with effective organisational skills in the workplace, and able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Computer literate including ability to use Microsoft Word, email and internet; good general IT skills: capability to use a variety of software.
