Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture procedures safely and accurately in accordance with clinical protocols.
* Provide reassurance and support to patients, using a calm and professional approach to reduce anxiety or discomfort.
* Label all specimens clearly and accurately, ensuring correct patient details and test requirements.
* Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control procedures, including PPE use and safe disposal of sharps and clinical waste.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, colleagues, and laboratory staff.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of samples taken and appointments completed.
* Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times, in accordance with GDPR and professional standards.
Requirements
* Experience in Phlebotomy in a healthcare or clinical setting.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
* Understanding of infection prevention, patient identification procedures, and specimen handling.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £12.21 per hour in Nottingham. This role is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private provider in the country. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, supplementing staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.
