Lifeskills Training and Education is a well-established private training organisation (previously called Skills Update); operating in NZ since 1991. We are seeking an experienced individual from the automotive industry to join our teaching team. We have a full-time teaching role, teaching youth and adult learners, available at our Christchurch Campus. The teaching hours will be Monday to Friday. The role is 46 hours per week.
You will be supporting learners to gain trade skills at pre-apprenticeship level. Passion for the industry is needed, in addition to impeccable organisational skills to ensure that all the compliance and administrative functions of your job are completed to a high standard.
Responsibilities
The job involves teaching automotive trade skills to youth and adult learners at pre-apprenticeship level, ensuring high standards of compliance and administration, and contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 4 years practical industry experience in the automotive industry, with at least 1 year of experience at a supervisory or team leader level
* Trade qualification at level 4 as a light vehicle technician (or equivalent work experience)
* Excellent presentation and communication skills
* Passion and energy for teaching and training others
* Unit Standard 4098, and the NZ or National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (level 4 or 5) (or be willing to complete these courses)
* A full Class 1 NZ Drivers licence
* Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a current NZ work permit.
