We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and committed Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Cockfosters, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they develop independence and confidence in lower KS2.

As a Year 4 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils make consistent academic progress while also supporting their social and emotional development. You will create a positive and stimulating classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and develop key skills for the future.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 4 curriculum
* Assess, track, and report on pupil progress effectively
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and high expectations
* Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and wellbeing
* Contribute to planning meetings, staff meetings, and whole-school initiatives
* Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have recent experience teaching in KS2, ideally Year 4
* Be confident delivering the KS2 curriculum
* Have strong classroom management and organisational skills
* Be enthusiastic, reflective, and pupil-focused
* Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
