IT Services is responsible for providing, developing, and maintaining the University’s central IT infrastructure and for delivering a wide range of technology-based services to staff and students.
We are seeking a Senior IT/AV Support Officer to deliver responsive, customer-focused 1st and 2nd line IT and AV support in the Business School.
The role involves supporting end-user technologies, audiovisual equipment, software applications, and corporate systems, as well as providing technical support for events and teaching/research facilities. Responsibilities include managing Windows and Mac OS systems, installing and maintaining audio-visual systems, troubleshooting, and supporting incidents related to computers, AV, and telephony equipment.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, key tasks include:
1. Monitoring, responding, and resolving incidents via the IT Services call management system based on priority and urgency.
2. Providing support for desktop, laptop, mobile, printing, AV, media, and telephony technologies, along with standard software applications and services.
3. Resolving hardware/software queries and AV faults efficiently in teaching spaces.
4. Supporting IT/AV equipment and multimedia technologies in learning and teaching spaces, including filming and live streaming for events and lectures.
5. Participating in operational activities related to hardware refreshes and project coordination.
6. Updating and developing webpages and intranet sites.
Applicants should have an HNC or HND in IT, AV, or a related field, with the technical knowledge, communication, and interpersonal skills to support internal customers. Experience in an IT/AV support environment is essential, with a strong customer focus, initiative, and organizational skills. Experience in higher education is advantageous.
