Business Growth Adviser - Manufacturing Location: Home based with travel across Lincolnshire Salary: From £52,000 dependent on experience About the Role We are expanding our regional manufacturing support network and are seeking experienced professionals with a background in manufacturing to work with a diverse portfolio of businesses across the Lincolnshire and wider region. This role is suited to someone who understands modern manufacturing operations and is motivated by helping companies improve productivity, strengthen processes, and build confidence in adopting new technologies and innovative ways of working. You will act as a trusted adviser to manufacturing leaders, supporting them to assess their current position, enhance digital capability, and implement practical improvements that deliver measurable impact. What You Will Be Doing You will initiate and develop strong working relationships with manufacturing businesses across the region and spend time on site understanding operations, culture, performance challenges and growth ambitions. You will deliver structured business and digital capability reviews, producing clear and commercially focused recommendations. You will advise on process improvement approaches that drive efficiency, quality and operational resilience, while supporting leaders to improve digital literacy across their organisations. The role involves helping businesses make informed decisions about technology adoption and innovation, providing balanced guidance on system improvements and data led decision making. You will also support leadership teams to manage change effectively, engaging their workforce and embedding new ways of working. In addition, you will facilitate workshops, potential grant opportunities and strategic discussions focused on innovation and future readiness, connecting businesses to specialist expertise or funding opportunities where appropriate, and contribute to wider regional engagement activity that strengthens collaboration within the manufacturing community. About You We are looking for individuals that can combine practical manufacturing experience with strong advisory capability and a genuine interest in digital transformation and innovation. You are likely to have experience of working for a manufacturer, with involvement in operational leadership, improvement activity or cross functional collaboration. You may have been involved in introducing new systems, technologies or process improvements, or supported businesses in strengthening performance and innovation capability. Experience contributing to change initiatives that required clear communication and cultural alignment would be beneficial. You should demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement principles, along with good digital awareness including familiarity with production systems and business software used in manufacturing environments. You will be able to explain technology concepts in practical and commercial terms to non-technical audiences and understand how to approach organisational change in a way that supports long term success. You will be confident engaging with business owners, senior managers and operational teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, alongside excellent IT skills and effective planning and organisational capability. You should be comfortable managing multiple business relationships and working in a digitally enabled environment. A degree or equivalent professional experience in manufacturing, engineering, business or a related discipline would be advantageous as well as evidence of ongoing professional development.
