Due to the Group embarking on a period of strategic change, this is a newly created role within the Group Finance team reporting to the Senior Group Finance Manager. The Senior Group Technical Accountant will be technically excellent in accounting for external multi-bank finance, a range of financial derivatives, foreign exchange and intercompany funding. The role involves managing the accounting for the newly formed IVC Evidensia Treasury Company (UK) and supporting external audit processes.
Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate management accounting for the Treasury Company, supporting interim and year-end external audits, and assisting EY with annual statutory accounts. The role also involves intercompany accounting across multiple currencies and collaborating with Group Transfer Pricing, Tax and Treasury teams.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
* Detailed review of the monthly financial performance and management commentaries for the Company.
* Detailed control review of the Balance Sheet, with a focus on external multi-bank finance accounting and reporting of financial derivatives.
* Presentation and explanation of monthly financial results and Balance Sheet movements to Senior Management.
* Provide Treasury with detailed information on contractual spend and support cash flow forecasting.
* Act as primary contact in the audit relationship with Deloitte and the Company’s External Auditor, during the year and at year-end.
* Resolve Deloitte audit queries in a timely manner for the Group and local Company audit.
* Work with EY to respond to statutory accounts and Corporate Tax queries promptly.
* Prepare statutory disclosures related to external debt, financial derivatives and effective interest rates.
* Review and sign off Company statutory accounts prepared by EY to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Ensure accurate accounting for all multi-currency Intercompany transactions.
* Calculate Intercompany interest cross-charges and support in-country teams with accounting and reconciliations.
* Monitor country-level borrowing facilities and debt pricing.
* Forecast intercompany interest for quarterly tax forecast.
* Maintain Intercompany agreements and the Contract document library; ensure adherence to Intercompany policies.
* Develop new Intercompany processes to ensure accurate accounting and timely repayment to aid cash management.
* Lead, motivate and coach direct reports in the Financial Accounting team.
* Drive continuous improvement across the Group’s holding companies.
* Support setting up the IVC Evidensia Treasury Company (UK) and transition activities from IVC Acquisition Limited.
* Participate in subsidiary recapitalisation accounting and strategic Treasury initiatives with Group Treasury (refinancing, intercompany funding, derivatives portfolio management).
* Maintain hedge documentation and mark-to-market valuations.
* Collaborate with Group Tax to support Transfer Pricing activities and projects.
* Handle ad-hoc queries from stakeholders (Group Tax, Group Treasury, Group FP&A, Group M&A, Group Legal, Management Accountants, Accounts Payable).
Experience/Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
* Experience of Holding Company accounting desired
* Ability to meet month-end deadlines and tight timetables
* Experience reviewing statutory accounts and leading audit queries
* Strong business knowledge and commercial acumen
* Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive accounting approach
* Excellent analytical skills (Excel, Power BI) and the ability to convert complex data into actionable insights
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and reporting)
* Relationship-building skills
