Job Overview We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and adaptable Pharmacy dispenser/assistant to undertake a pharmacy apprenticeship. The role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail, joining our friendly, supportive and welcoming pharmacy team. This role is ideal to start a career in pharmacy or for someone who has experience of working in pharmacy to provide medicines to patients in an efficient, timely and safe manner. You will undertake an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, which will allow you to progress in a career in pharmacy. We welcome applications from people working in community pharmacy or other roles detailing with customers/patients. Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided We reserve the right to close the post early if there are sufficient applicants. Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for receiving medicines from suppliers, assisting with inventory control, supplying medicines to all areas of the trust as stock, dispensing medicines to patients and working in our busy reception area. The post holder will also work with robotic technology and automated medicine cabinets They will also provide support to the Distribution Team and the Pharmacy Storekeeper, receiving deliveries of medicines and ‘topping up’ ward stock. The post holder will also work in the pharmacy aseptics unit, where chemotherapy is prepared for patients. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be good at managing their time, be flexible in their approach to work and be an excellent team player. The post holder will also be expected to take part in the weekend, evening and bank holiday rotas.
