JOB TITLE Fundraising Officer SALARY £28,500 per annum FTE (£23,108 pro-rata) with 3% employer pension contributions HOURS OF WORK 30 per week (0.81FTE) LOCATION Perth City Centre, with hybrid working available. Some travel throughout Perth & Kinross may be required ABOUT CATH CATH was started in the winter of 1990-1991 when a group of local people came together in response to the number of people sleeping rough in Perth at that time. The first response was a ‘Soup Kitchen’, which later developed into a Day Centre (now called the Community Hub) which opened in 1995. Now, CATH supports people across Perth & Kinross via a range of projects – from our Community Hub and Outreach provision through to our supported housing service, Tayview House, to our Floating Housing Support service. Each of these provides a form of housing-related support – aiming to ensure people access and/or maintain accommodation. This includes income maximisation support, access to community-based activities and signposting to additional support where required. In addition, we have an Adult Learning programme and are in our final year of a test of change project called Positive Pathways, both of which support people to access training, education, volunteering opportunities and employment. Our much valued and well-loved charity shop opened in 2010, not only providing the charity with a source of income but also helping to divert high quality items from landfill, fostering a sense of community amongst regular shoppers, providing items at a fair price and offering both volunteering and employment opportunities. Our final project, On The Mend, provides an inclusive community facility on Perth High Street offering group-based activities. We currently run several craft and upcycling courses for people to access, many of whom are facilitated by volunteers and overseen by talented and creative staff. ABOUT THIS ROLE CATH are seeking a motivated, experienced and flexible Fundraising Officer to join our team of circa 35 staff and circa 40 volunteers. We do not currently have this role within our organisation, so this presents an exciting opportunity for the right person to play a truly vital role in increasing our income and helping us sustain, develop and grow our work to meet the needs of people in Perth & Kinross. Whilst this role will have the support of our Senior Management Team and other colleagues, this is a sole fundraising role so the successful candidate must be confident in working alone and understand the importance of demonstrating our values whilst building relationships with supporters and donors. The primary purpose will be community, events and corporate fundraising but there will be the opportunity to support our trusts and foundations applications and our wider income generation activities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Work alongside the Chief Executive and Board members to develop CATH’s Fundraising Strategy, identifying and delivering on your own community, events and corporate fundraising arms of this strategy. Work to identify and respond to local fundraising opportunities. Test and implement a variety of new community fundraising activities, providing regular status reports and recommendations. Create and deliver clear and compelling pitches to corporates, encouraging engagement with the work of CATH. Increase Community and Events Fundraising income and involvement of supporters. Oversee and support any volunteers who have an interest in helping our fundraising efforts. Provide regular progress reports for the Chief Executive and Board and attend meetings as required. Attend staff team meetings as required, brief colleagues on developments and collaborate with colleagues to connect with supporters/donors at a local level. Represent CATH to external stakeholders and at events. Promote fundraising opportunities via external and internal communication tools including social media, newsletters and website. Support the Senior Management Team with funding applications where your capacity allows Work in conjunction with our Digital Marketing Assistant to prepare relevant communications e.g. case studies, highlighting impact, promoting services as appropriate via external and internal communication tools. Maintain appropriate donor and donation records. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post and in accordance with the needs of the organisation.
