Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Barrow/NW
Type: Permanent

Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team on a project based on site in Barrow. The role involves managing the project commercial team, advising on risks and opportunities, and supporting contract reviews. The position is permanent with NG Bailey, with a project duration of approximately 2 years, with potential for further work.
We are also open to considering candidates at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
Please note that candidates need to obtain security clearance; therefore, only British nationals can be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
* Promoting safety culture in all activities.
* Ensuring accuracy of risk and opportunity schedules, identifying measures to protect the company and improve profitability.
* Managing mitigation and enhancement measures, reporting outcomes.
* Leading the commercial team and maximizing team potential.
* Building relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors, negotiating contract terms.
* Attending contract reviews, ensuring cost and value accuracy.
* Assisting with business plans and management accounts, maintaining records to manage disputes.
* Monitoring commercial performance and managing project staff.
* Preparing commercial plans, communicating contract obligations and risks.
* Managing payment applications and ensuring timely receipt.
* Overseeing subcontract commercial aspects.
Requirements:
* Experience managing the commercial performance of construction projects.
* Experience with NEC contracts (preferred).
* Team management experience.
