Job Title: HR & OD Advisor
Department: People and Inclusion
Location: Agile (Bury / hybrid working)
Role Purpose
To provide professional HR advice and support to managers across the organisation, ensuring people issues are handled effectively, consistently, and in line with employment law and organisational policy. The role also supports organisational development, workforce planning, and the delivery of a high-performing, inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise and support managers on a wide range of HR matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance, and flexible working issues
* Guide managers through employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with policy and employment legislation
* Support organisational change initiatives such as restructures, redundancy, and workforce transformation
* Coach and develop managers to build confidence in handling people management issues independently
* Assist in recruitment processes, including job design, job evaluation, and selection
* Analyse workforce data (e.g. absence, turnover) to identify trends and inform decision-making
* Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practice
* Deliver HR training and support organisational development initiatives
* Build effective working relationships with managers, trade unions, and key stakeholders
* Maintain accurate HR records in line with GDPR and organisational requirements
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience advising on HR issues within a fast-paced environment
* Sound knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage a varied workload and handle sensitive situations professionally
* Analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data
* CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards)
