Purpose:
The Dispatcher will maximize fleet efficiency by scheduling and coordinating the delivery activities of drivers as trained and specified in the company’s Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures. Location: Ontario Medical Supply, Scarborough. Reports to: Warehouse Manager. No. of Positions: 1. ATR: 4835. Type: Full time, Permanent. Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience. Benefits: Yes. Shift: M-F 1230-2100hrs.
Job Responsibilities:
* Assign daily delivery of parcels and coordinate run schedules
* Communicate required maintenance and repairs of vehicle fleet
* Oversee pre/post trip vehicle inspections
* Perform general housekeeping duties
* Report and escalate all delivery deficiencies to the appropriate department
* Ensure all delivery documentation is complete/submitted in a timely manner
* Learn and help out on a daily basis with Supplies and Equipment
* Use computer skills to create reports, and to monitor order and outs
* Willing to learn and work between two lines of business (Dispatching and Supplies and Equipment)
Qualifications:
Completion of high school. Minimum 1 year full time working experience as a dispatcher. Good knowledge of the working areas and mapping logistics. Health and safety awareness training is an asset.
Skills: Fast Learner, Team Player – Willing to help out in what is needed, organization, flexibility, adaptability, and sound time management skills. Candidates must be computer literate. Strong customer service skills/proven ability to interact with the elderly.
