Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Company Director, the Mobility Services Operative is a vital, multi‑faceted role at the heart of our customer experience. You will be responsible for the full logistical journey of our products, from assembly and safety‑checking to professional, white‑glove delivery and customer handover. The position requires a practical, hands‑on individual who is as comfortable with a set of tools as they are with interacting with customers, and who will also provide crucial support to our lead technician and the wider team, ensuring the workshop is efficient, organised, and safe.
Key Responsibilities
 * Assembly: skillfully assemble new mobility scooters, powerchairs and other aids to a showroom‑ready standard.
 * Quality Control: conduct thorough pre‑delivery inspections (PDI) and multi‑point safety checks on all new and serviced equipment.
 * Technical Support: assist the lead technician with basic servicing, maintenance and cleaning of products.
 * Workshop & Stock Management: maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and warehouse; receive new stock, organise inventory, and prepare items for dispatch.
 * Delivery & Customer Handover – Logistics: manage and execute a daily schedule of customer deliveries and collections efficiently.
 * Vehicle & Product Handling: safely load, secure and unload mobility equipment, ensuring products arrive in pristine condition.
 * Customer Demonstration: act as the face of MLV Mobility during handovers, providing clear, patient and friendly demonstrations of the product’s features, charging and safe operation.
 * Documentation: ensure all delivery and handover paperwork is completed accurately and all customer queries are answered professionally.
 * General Operations: provide flexible, hands‑on support to the sales and technical teams as needed and contribute to the smooth running of all day‑to‑day operations.
Candidate Profile: Skills & Qualifications
Essential (Must‑Haves)
 * A full, clean UK driving licence (Category B).
 * Practical, hands‑on skills with basic tools and light assembly (mechanical or electrical).
 * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; patient, empathetic and professional, particularly when dealing with clientele.
 * A proactive, "can‑do" attitude and the ability to work flexibly and reliably as part of a small, busy team.
 * Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
 * The physical ability to safely lift, push and handle heavy and bulky items using correct procedures and aids.
Desirable (Nice‑to‑Haves)
 * Previous experience in field service, delivery driver or logistics role.
 * Experience in a customer‑facing role, especially one involving product demonstrations.
 * Background in mechanics, electronics or a similar technical field (e.g., bicycle repair, general maintenance).
 * Familiarity with mobility products or the healthcare sector.
