Summary:
A leading energy consultancy are looking for an Energy Pricing Analyst (Graduate) to manage their Pricing, Trading, and Risk activity for clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with around 1 years experience in an analytical role within the energy/utilities industry who is looking to build a successful career within Pricing. You will manage data relating the energy markets, in particular UK Energy – Gas and power, relating to position / exposure / price. The ideal candidate will have either 6months-1yr experience working in a Data focused role within the energy industry OR, a degree in Maths, Statistic or Economics. and receive training in these areas
Key responsibilities:
1. Analysis of UK commodity markets - Gas and Power
2. Monitoring and managing client exposures and associated risks
3. Client recommendations plus supporting rationale
4. Daily monitoring of price targets / trigger levels
5. Weekly / monthly market and position reports
6. Internal market support to sales team
7. Tender processing and Cost Analysis
8. Communicate with energy suppliers to secure/lock in prices.
Skills and experience required:
9. Ideally have experience working within the energy/utilities industry – billing/data
10. Strong MS Excel, comfortable analysising large sets of data for clients
11. Bachelor's degree in STEM, Economics, Data Science, Maths, Statistics or a similar field
12. A sound grasp of key drivers that impact energy and financial markets.
13. Ability to articulate alternative propositions & make recommendations based on sound logic and reasoning
14. Excellent written and verbal skills
15. Ideally experience with VBA, Python or Modeling
