We are recruiting for a High Intensity/CBT Therapist at HMP Chelmsford.
Here at Forward Trust, we deliver a complex range of drug and alcohol services in the unique prison environment. Our support includes providing advice, health and wellbeing, motivational work, clinical services, and a wider range of group work and treatment programmes.
The Forward Trust services within prison settings are commissioned by NHS England and delivered in partnership with primary healthcare providers and HMPPS. Integration and partnership are central to our work.

Role Responsibilities
As a CBT therapist, you will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or facilitate therapeutic groups, working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, with a commitment to equal opportunities. A key part of this role is to assess service users' suitability for, and deliver, a range of Step 3 evidence-based interventions in line with NICE Guidelines. The post holder will provide line management to the senior PWP, with case management and clinical skills responsibilities.
Additional management and leadership duties include report writing and attending internal and external MDT meetings, working in conjunction with the Senior PWP. You will adopt a team-oriented approach, be flexible and adaptable to organizational needs, and work across locations as agreed. At times, you will be the most senior representative on site, building excellent relationships with your manager and partner agencies.
All prison-based roles require an enhanced DBS and HMPPS security vetting, which can take up to 3-6 weeks. All offers are subject to receiving both clearances. Checks include:

The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with individuals with mental health difficulties and in primary care
* Experience organizing, planning, and prioritizing workload
* Knowledge of the criminal justice sector and/or community services
* Experience managing and developing staff, providing clinical and line management supervision
* Experience conducting comprehensive risk assessments, including risks to self and others
* Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information clearly, both verbally and in writing
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to diverse populations
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological interventions, especially low/high intensity
* Ability to reflect on and develop own practice continuously
