Overview
Specialist Occupational Therapist required at Higford School – Shropshire TF11 9ET. Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Basic grade OT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered. Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances).

This role sits within a multidisciplinary clinical team that collaborates with our education teams to support pupils in an education setting. We offer a £2000 training allowance to support Continued Professional Development (CPD) after probation, enabling role-specific training tailored to individual requirements.
Role purpose
Join our in-house clinical team to support young people with diverse profiles, embedding independence and sensory processing into the timetable. Work collaboratively with the education team, assess and plan interventions for our cohort of students, with the support of an OT Assistant and the Clinical Site Lead. Operate within the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working to guide practice in an education setting and clarify roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Assess and plan interventions for pupils in collaboration with the education team.
* Provide specialist occupational therapy input to foster independence and develop sensory processing strategies within school routines.
* Work with an OT Assistant and the Clinical Site Lead to deliver services within the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working.
* Contribute to development of enhanced occupational therapy offers through supporting apprentices, students and therapy assistants.
* Engage in opportunities for research projects, special interest groups, and wider OT networks within the group.
Qualifications and experience
* Qualified Occupational Therapist registered to practice.
* Experience in an education or school-based setting preferred but not required for all levels; role described includes entry to specialist practice.
