The Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Sciences in the School of Health Sciences wishes to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative individual to a teaching focussed role of Lecturer in Digital Epidemiology to grow capacity in the development and delivery of teaching in Health Data Science and Health Informatics.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the individual to join a growing education team that is embedded in a strong research department, thus creating an environment where research can be integrated into up-to-date and relevant training whilst also developing innovative approaches to delivery of the educational offerings. This role will ensure how this creates a positive student experience across our programmes, and as part of this role you will be able to contribute to new ways to be able to do this. In addition, you will be able to contribute to the management of our education materials as well as short projects that grow our capability to train others in the field. You will also be expected to contribute to other teaching, supervision and professional training as well as undertake any associated management and administrative duties.

To apply for this position, you should have a PhD in a health informatics related subject, for example, Epidemiology, Health Data Science, have some experience with curriculum design and teaching delivery to a range of interdisciplinary students and professionals, and experience in the analysis of complex healthcare problems. Of particular interest would around the appraisal and evaluation of healthcare technologies and data science approaches.

This work is key to the Division of Informatics, Imaging and Data Sciences. You will join an engaged digital health community at Manchester with over 100 across the division, and plugin to our network of over 400 who work across the University in different disciplines allied to the Centre including The Pankhurst Institute, Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Applied Research Collaboration (ARC).
