We have exciting opportunities for Apprentices at the grade of Civil Engineering Degree level.
The opportunities will provide training and experience for civil and structural engineering, working on projects from one house to schemes up to several thousand dwellings, infrastructure for commercial development, healthcare and many other sectors.
Whilst working with us, you will be given an apprentice education on a part time basis.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assisting engineers in the preparation of calculations and specifications.
* Assisting technician in the preparation of engineering drawings.
* Use of CAD and other computerised design systems.
* Provide support to supervising engineers during site investigations, including undertaking routine monitoring visits and in-situ testing.
* Data processing using Microsoft excel and design software packages (training will be provided).
* Assist in the management and storage of samples, materials and consumables.
* Appreciation of our business - understand briefs, budgets and monitor delivery.
* Maintain Client Care, including internal and external clients.
* Attend university/college to successfully achieve an engineering degree.
* Learn and develop technical knowledge and skills to assist with the successful completion and sign off of the apprenticeship scheme.
General
* At all times work safely, ensuring your own safety and that of others in the Company
* At all times work within all Company procedures and protocols
* Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Company
Person Specification
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications:
* Full UK driving licence (preferrable) with access to a vehicle (desirable);
* IT literate with sound numerical ability.
* Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (grades A to C) including English language and mathematics.
* Experience in using AutoCAD or similar software is advantageous but not essential.
* Willingness to undertake physical work outside in all weathers and to travel with occasional overnight stays.
