Band 3 Charity Admin Officer

We are looking for a Band 3 Charity Admin Officer to provide financial admin support to two independent charities both of which exist to support the staff and patients. The successful applicant will have excellent organisation and communication skills as well as the ability to demonstrate a good level of numeracy and problem‑solving skills.

Our offices are based near Five Ways in Birmingham City Centre, and we offer the opportunity to work from home two days each week.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* GCSE's or equivalent level of qualification in Maths and English Level 9-4 / A-C or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/ AAT or equivalent or equivalent experience in an administrative environment
* Evidence of CPD


Experience

* Experience of dealing with the Public/ Customer service
* Experience of working within an NHS/ Finance/ Healthcare environment.
* Maintenance of financial records to a suitable auditable standard.
* Experience of dealing with audits/ surveys
* Experience of dealing with difficult situations e.g. demanding behaviour, barriers to understanding
* Experience of training other/ less experienced staff
* Experience of planning and organising diaries/ activities


Additional Criteria

* Good communication skills -- both verbal and written.
* Ability to demonstrate good level of numeracy and problem solving skills
* Computer literate e.g. experience of working with Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Able to design and update spreadsheets to provide analysis or solutions to problems.
* Time management skills, ability to work on own initiative and plan workload.
* Able to pay attention to detail where there are interruptions to the work pattern
* Able to deal with stressful and sensitive issues
* Ability to work well as part of a team
* Demonstrate ability to communicate with all levels of staff across the Trust
* To understand the principles of confidentiality and apply to every day working practice.
* Demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity.
* Reliable
* Demonstrate care and compassion
* A proactive approach and the ability to recognise problems and suggest improvements
* Basic working knowledge of the role of the charitable sector within NHS.
* Basic understanding of the accounting and financial functions of a business.
* Able to travel and work across all UHB sites and external agencies if required by the role.
