Key points: The role is primarily for Unix/Linux skills with DBA DB2 experience, not more on DB2 mainframe people.
Requirements:
* 7+ years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator involved in Development, Enhancements, and Production Support.
* Certified IBM DB2 DBA or equivalent experience.
* Hands-on experience in DBA activities like Data Maintenance, Authorization, Privileges, Backup, and Recovery.
* Operational support experience, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
* Result-oriented, customer-focused, with good team relationships.
* At least 2 years of experience as DB2 DBA on Mainframes.
Skills:
Operating Systems: Windows XP, Linux, AIX, AWS EC2
Database: DB2 on open systems
Database Tools: db2top, db2advise, db2pd, db2dart, db2look, db2support, SPUFI, QMF, QREP, DB2 Admin tool, Log analyzer.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing 24/7 production support.
* Supporting application teams with solutions.
* Working on logical and physical partitioning databases.
* Data refreshes in development regions.
* Involvement in DB2 V10 upgrade and quarterly Disaster Recovery activities.
* Database restorations and redirects.
* Backup and recovery in stand-alone and DPF environments.
* Creating databases, tablespaces, tables, views, indexes.
* Supporting Windows applications like Philbert, WinSQL, NLP.
* Participating in Disaster Recovery exercises.
* Cataloging mainframe databases for open systems access.
* Resolving user issues, managing access rights.
* Working with partitioned tables, materialized query tables, views.
* Performing frequent restorations based on business needs.
* Supporting DB2 tools like IBM Data Studio, Rational Manager, and Installation Manager.
* Working with Q Replication.
* Managing incidents and changes using HPSM.
