An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced neonatal nurses to develop their leadership skills within a Band 6 Junior Sister role.

The post holder will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care in a dynamic and forward-thinking service.

Main duties of the job

The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is based at the Oxford Road Campus (ORC), with Local Neonatal Units located at Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital. The NICU at St Mary’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art tertiary unit, co-located within Maternity Services and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and is renowned for excellence in clinical care, research, and education.

As one of three NICUs in Greater Manchester, St Mary’s is the only centre providing neonatal surgery and specialist retinopathy of prematurity treatments. There is a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working, with family integrated care at the heart of our culture across all sites.
