Job Description
Join Alpadia's team to make summer 2025 an unforgettable experience! We seek highly motivated individuals who can engage and inspire young students and are looking for an enriching educational experience themselves.
Your Role
1. Prioritize student safety, implementing Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies in collaboration with the Camp Manager.
2. Act as Designated Safeguarding Staff, caring for sick students and coordinating medical responses.
3. Manage student attendance registers.
4. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding student welfare, addressing questions and concerns.
5. Communicate transfer plans to students and Group Leaders for smooth departures.
6. Manage students respectfully, adhering to Alpadia policies, ensuring they enjoy and contribute to the programme.
7. Handle safeguarding concerns sensitively and escalate appropriately.
8. Lead and assist in staff training and induction.
9. Create and distribute the Welfare Officer rota.
10. Line manage Welfare Officers and Night Supervisors, serving as their primary contact.
11. Read overnight reports and share pertinent information with staff.
12. Ensure organized administration related to check-ins, pocket money, and other camp operations, following policies.
13. Manage student accommodation allocations and respond to requests and complaints.
14. Oversee collection and distribution of student pocket money.
15. Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Camp Manager, such as marketing uploads and daily reports.
16. Manage student behavior, applying appropriate sanctions or encouragement.
17. Ensure residence rules are followed and accommodations are tidy.
18. Oversee students' sleep and wake routines, directing the wider team as needed.
19. Assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
20. Cover for the Camp Manager on their day off.
21. Lead daily meetings and contribute to process improvements.
22. Support the Activity Programme alongside the Activity Manager and Leaders.
Qualifications
Essential
* High IT competency: Outlook & MS Office (Excel preferred)
* Excellent communication and team-working skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Leadership and motivation skills

* Effective verbal and written communication with students and teams
* Ability to relate well to children and gain their trust
* Willingness to train in safeguarding platforms

* Experience in similar roles

* Experience in summer schools or similar environments
* Relevant qualifications or accreditation
* Knowledge of child development principles
* Self-evaluation and development seeking skills
