A globally recognised independent construction consultancy is seeking an Electrical Consultant Engineer to join their team in the Southwest and South Wales regions. The role
The Electrical Consultant Engineer will provide technical expertise across all stages of building projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Undertaking project feasibility studies and detailed electrical design from RIBA Stage 0 to 4
* Producing technical drawings and complete electrical tender packages
* Monitoring electrical works on-site and reporting on conformity and quality
* Conducting condition surveys, pre-acquisition assessments, dilapidation surveys, and planned preventative maintenance
* Acting as a technical advisor to clients and supporting contractor designs
* Ensuring work is carried out efficiently, complying with internal processes, commercial and contractual strategies, and Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality standards
* Collaborating closely with internal project teams and supporting the growth of the in-region M&E service
About you
The ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, alongside a recognised M&E qualification. Chartered status, or a willingness to obtain MCIBSE or equivalent, is essential. You will have a proven track record in a similar consultancy or site engineering role, with experience in independent electrical design from RIBA Stage 0 to 4. Strong skills in asset surveying, condition assessments, and technical due diligence are expected.
You should also have:
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam, with REVIT experience advantageous
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in client-facing interactions
* A proactive, well-organised, commercially aware approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Southwest and South Wales
* Commitment to supporting the growth of the in-region M&E service
