Staffordshire County Council – Our Family Practitioners play a key role in working with children and families to support children to remain within their families. You will provide crisis intervention and work collaboratively with social workers to support children in need, children on child protection plans, and children in care.
You’ll be expected to undertake flexible, creative, and imaginative approaches to offering support to children, young people, their families, and carers while underpinning our restorative approach. You may be available outside traditional working patterns, including evenings and weekends, when support is needed.
You will be based in Cannock, covering Cannock Chase District (including Cannock, Rugeley, Norton Canes, Heath Hayes).
Responsibilities
* Lead early help assessments and plans.
* Work with social workers to support children in need, children on child protection plans, and children in care.
* Contribute to parenting assessments, support mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution, and Life Story Work.
* Support completion of accurate documentation, reports, and records relating to work with children, young people, and their families.
* Support Social Workers to complete child and family assessments.
* Complete direct work with children and families for crisis prevention and conflict resolution.
Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families or equivalent experience.
* Experience delivering direct work with children and families in their homes, being creative in engaging them.
* Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Current UK driving licence and vehicle.
