Our role
As a Design Engineer, you will work as part of a team to design complex LV and HV overhead line and underground diversions, reinforcements, asset replacements, refurbishments, maintenance, network referrals, and clearance issues on Electricity North West’s networks. You will be responsible for producing approved designs that meet ENWL policies and industry standards.
An emphasis will be placed on overhead line refurbishment, maintenance, and asset replacement projects.
Role
Here are some of the responsibilities you could expect:
* Manage the design phase on plant, multi-vector, UVA, and reinforcement schemes.
* Oversee the design of overhead line maintenance and refurbishment projects, ensuring timely delivery of work packages.
* Create scheme documentation and design drawings using mapping and data collection systems.
* Analyze overhead line data using asset management tools and progress works into fully constructible projects.
* Collaborate with Design Technicians and Work Planners to prioritize maintenance, asset replacement, and refurbishment works.
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders impacted by our networks, such as BT and street lighting authorities.
* Present schemes and process financial approvals.
What We’re Looking For
To apply for this role, you should have a minimum of an HNC in Electrical Engineering and:
* Proficient knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to manipulate large data sets with advanced Excel formulas and present results visually.
* Self-motivated with a proactive problem-solving approach.
* Strong team player with initiative.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Valid UK driving license.
