Lead Theatre Practitioner - Robotics The Clementine Churchill Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Competitive The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner – Robotics to join their team of staff in the Theatres department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the robotic perioperative pathway, ensuring safe, efficient and evidence-based practice. Coordinate robotic theatre lists and support surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams throughout robotic procedures. Act as the clinical specialist and key point of contact for robotic surgical systems, ensuring equipment is prepared, maintained, compliant and ready for use. Ensure all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are completed in line with hospital policies and best practice standards. Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and support to theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion and accountability. Maintain clinical credibility by leading complex or high-risk cases, championing best practice and driving continuous improvement within the robotics service. Mentor, coach and develop team members, supporting competency assessments, professional development, students and newly qualified staff. Work in partnership with the Surgical Services Manager to support staffing, training, appraisals, service development and the continued growth and innovation of the robotics programme. Applicants should meet the following criteria: NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (e.g. scrub, recovery, or anaesthetics). Specialist training with significant experience in robotic-assisted surgery, including the da Vinci Surgical System. Proven experience of perioperative robotics workflows. Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers. Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance. Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification [for scrub leads]. ENB 998 and/or mentorship course. Approved / recognised anaesthetic course. ILS. Excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills. Commitment to personal development and supporting the development of others. Experience in leading audits, service improvement projects, or clinical teaching. Previous experience working within the independent healthcare sector or multidisciplinary surgical teams. Familiarity with theatre scheduling systems and electronic patient records.
