SEN Teaching Assistants - Portsmouth

Academics are supporting a specialist school for children with profound severe and complex learning difficulties, based in Portsmouth, and are looking for bright and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants available to start ASAP. The schools have 3 sites for pupils aged 2 to 19 years and require support for children with co-occurring needs including behaviour and mental health issues, autistic spectrum condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions.
Due to the complex needs of the students, ideally you will have relevant, recent experience or qualifications. We will consider candidates qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology, but other subjects will also be considered.
The schools are across Portsmouth and are looking to fill vacancies for full-time Teaching Assistants starting ASAP. The SEN children are aged 2 to 19 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure the highest quality of care and child-centred support.
The school is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants who can bring enthusiasm, passion and experience to the classroom. They are looking for SEN TAs who will be proactive and adaptable and able to use their own initiative. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable.
Responsibilities
* Provide targeted support to children with Special Educational Needs and Complex Needs across multiple sites.
* Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and behavioural challenges.
* Work alongside SEN teachers to implement tailored plans and activities.
* Adapt approaches to meet individual learning goals and medical/physical needs.
* Contribute to a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant, recent experience or qualifications in SEN, Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or related fields (other subjects considered).
* Enthusiasm, passion, adaptability and initiative.
* Resilience and confidence when working with challenging behaviour.

* Salary: 89 per day
