MAIN PURPOSE:
To provide an affective and efficient cleaning service, which provides for a safe and clean healthcare environment for the delivery of health and social care services which are patient/client focused .
The post holder will be responsible for the ensuing high standards of environmental cleanliness in accordance with Trust protocols and procedures, these standards are integral to the prevention and control of healthcare associated infections (HCA).
The post holders' duties and responsibilities will include laundering of bedlinen clothing and bed making as appropriate
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for cleaning floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, internal glazing, high and low level surfaces and sanitary ware/areas within clinical and non-clinical areas, these duties will be carried out in line with Trust policies and procedures pertaining to environmental cleanliness
2. To carry out and complete assigned cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedules, frequencies and required quality standards for environment cleanliness
3. Responsible for ensuring and maintaining high standards of environmental cleanliness n the location, area assigned under the direction of the supervisor
4. Responsible for the changing of curtains/bed screens as per schedule
5. Cleaning of specialised areas and equipment as local agreement
6. Catering duties, portioning, garnishing and presentation of patient's meals
7. Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, containers through the dishwasher
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
8. Basic numeracy and literacy skills
9. Good organisational skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
10. Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
