Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in food preparation, dishwashing, and assisting with basic cooking tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in a restaurant or hotel setting. Prior kitchen or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
* Assist with food preparation and basic cooking under supervision
* Wash, dry, and store crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
* Support the team with organising ingredients and supplies for service
* Help with serving food and beverages to guests when required
* Ensure all areas of the kitchen are kept hygienic and well-stocked
* Follow all safety procedures and food hygiene regulations diligently
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not mandatory
* Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is preferred
* Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
* Flexibility to work shifts as required within a hospitality setting
