Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions Ltd (CHS)
In collaboration with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, CHS is undertaking a project to reconfigure the hospital estate and enhance patient services, including constructing 8 new wards and extending A&E at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Opportunity: This role offers a unique chance to lead procurement and contract activities for a significant healthcare project, working with internal and external stakeholders. It also provides avenues for personal development.
Role Overview
The post holder will:
* Lead procurement and contract projects related to the reconfiguration programme.
* Collaborate closely with CHS Estates, Laing O'Rourke, and the Reconfiguration Project Director.
* Manage complex, high-value procurements, creating tender and contract documentation.
* Provide commercial support and advice to ensure value for money.
* Develop and implement a 5-year procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals.
* Support operational and strategic objectives of the Procurement Team, Trust, and CHS.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, promoting shared responsibility for procurement.
* Lead category management initiatives across divisions.
* Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of procurement projects, including high-value tasks.
* Approach projects with commercial acumen, creativity, and strategic alignment.
* Design detailed project plans with clear timelines and outcomes.
* Handle all aspects of clinical and non-clinical procurement efficiently.
* Engage proactively with procurement schemes and market research.
* Maximise contract compliance and adhere to procurement legislation.
* Manage resources effectively, including line management of a Buyer and Procurement Apprentice.
* Promote a culture of initiative, responsibility, and open communication.
Requirements
* Working towards MCIPS status or starting within 6 months.
* Mandatory training in Government Procurement Act, Contract Management, and other relevant courses within specified timeframes.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and legislation.
* Manage supplier relationships and support in market disruptions.
* Develop stakeholder management strategies and collaborate with other NHS entities.
