Job Title: Night Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Pontrilas, Herefordshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, 21:45 – 06:15
Pay: £20.15 per hour plus 12.5% night shift allowance
Annual Equivalent: Approximately £47,151 per year (including allowance) plus weekly production bonus
About the Role
A skilled and motivated Night Shift Electrical Maintenance Engineer is required to support operations at a modern timber processing facility. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems to ensure the smooth running of production during night operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery
* Deliver project work including upgrades, installations, and improvements
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime
* Work with a range of systems including vision systems, encoders, transducers, and PLCs
* Support the integration and maintenance of Siemens PLC systems
* Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and health and safety standards
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support night shift operations
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and project activities
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified electrical engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
* Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance environment
* Hands-on experience with vision systems, encoders, transducers, and Siemens PLCs (highly desirable)
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively during night shifts
* Good knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance requirements
* Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
