Production Operative (Nights)

Location: Launceston, Cornwall (PL15)
Position Type: Full-time, Contract - 3 months initially, with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAP (following successful interview and onboarding checks)
Shifts Available:
Weekday Nights: 10:00pm - 6:00am (Monday to Thursday) and 4:00pm - 9:00pm (Friday)
Weekend Nights: 9:00pm - 6:00am (Friday to Saturday) and 6:00pm - 6:00am (Sunday)
Applicants must be available to work the full night shift pattern as required.
Pay Rates:
Weekends (up to 37.5 hours): £16.41 per hour
Overtime (after 8 hours per day & Saturdays): £24.62 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manufacturing and production machinery safely, following all operating guidelines and Standard Safe Operating Procedures.
Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure it runs efficiently.
Follow production plans to meet targets while maintaining product quality.
Keep accurate records of production output, issues, and downtime as required.
Work collaboratively with team members.
Maintain a clean and organised work area with workplace standards.
Comply at all times with UK Health & Safety legislation and site-specific safety protocols.Essential Requirements:
Valid driving licence and access to reliable transport.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and SSOW procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive approach to tasks.Desirable Skills:
Previous experience operating industrial machinery or similar equipment.
Knowledge of quality control processes in a manufacturing environment.
