Job Purpose
Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisors and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient processing of wood and laminate worktops through varying processes. You will maintain high standards of quality whilst working safely in line with HSE guidelines, wearing appropriate PPE and keeping workstations clean and tidy.
Key responsibilities
* Ensuring safety and security in the fabrication department is maintained at all times
* At all times following company safe working procedures relating to all fabrication processes
* Quality checking on each fabrication workstation prior to processing worktops – this includes, checking measurements, ensuring smooth edges of worktops, checking for damages in line with specific company processes and escalating concerns or queries to Supervisors / Managers when required
* Receiving, checking, inspecting, and processing returned worktops prior to moving them back to stock or if required into repair, re-work or disposal status
* Repairing damaged worktops prior to returning them back to stock in the warehouse
* Reworking worktops into samples – including cutting, routing, sanding, oiling, boxing and labelling
* Sanding wood and solid compact laminate worktop edges, as outlined on technical drawings
* Oiling wood worktops using the oiling machine and manually oiling edges using a sponge ensuring no excess oil remains on completion
* Carrying out final quality inspection prior to packing
* Packing and dispatching worktops ensuring orders are labelled accurately
* Operating the CNC machines, ensuring correct programme has been selected and escalating issues where appropriate – (once formal training & testing has been successfully completed)
* Operating the Table-Saw machines, ensuring correct programme has been selected and escalating issues where appropriate - (once formal training & testing has been successfully completed)
* Maintaining high levels of health and safety standards at all times whist using Manual Handling Equipment – (once formal training & testing has been successfully completed).
* Undertaking other Fabrication related activities as and when required.
