Overview
We are excited to announce 12 training Cognitive Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) posts in West London Trust across Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow and Ealing Community CAMHS and Mental Health Support Teams. The purpose of the role is to provide early intervention by way of Guided Self Help (GSH) for children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, especially those who would not normally meet the threshold or engage with CAMHS.
This is a training role within the Children and Young People\'s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within a CYP mental health service delivering, under supervision, high-quality, brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Interventions will be delivered in both 1:1 and group settings, and the post-holder will work closely with other community organisations.
Training and Location
Alongside working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice at King\'s College London (KCL), you will work in a clinic under the supervision of a CWP Supervisor and there will be close links with the specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) CAMHS teams as well as working within community settings and within schools. The training programme is part of CYP-IAPT and aims to provide evidence-based treatments that are brief and low in intensity for mild to moderate difficulties.

Responsibilities
The post holder will:
* Deliver brief, outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions and guided self-help to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, in 1:1 and group settings.
* Work under supervision and maintain close links with the CYP MDT CAMHS teams, community organisations, and schools.
* Attend all university-based taught and onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the national curriculum.
* Operate within the service for the remaining days of the week using newly developed skills.
