Trust Grade Fellow in Ophthalmology (Vitreo Retinal) Applications are invited for the above post which offers advanced specialist training in Vitreo-Retinal sub-specialty, to be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The post is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed-term period of one year. The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team. The appointee will have a principle interest in Vitreo-Retinal sub-specialty. Please note, the job description contains an illustrative job plan, and the final timetable will be discussed and agreed upon appointment. The appointee will join an active and enthusiastic team of 28 Ophthalmologists, and 6 specialty doctors both generalist and sub-specialist Ophthalmology services are provided within UHL. Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date have a certificate of completion of specialist training. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application. The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust consists of three acute teaching hospitals serving the population of Leicestershire.
