Due to the post-holder retiring, this is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with active NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) to run our Medical Centre.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday inclusive during term time. Some weekend working required for events and dates will be notified in advance.
This role would suit a candidate with experience in paediatric, school or community nursing and the clinical judgement to work independently within a school based medical setting. You will be supporting pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing across our busy school. The role includes day-to-day nursing care, managing treatment plans, administering medication, liaising with parents, staff and medical professionals, and contributing to safeguarding and health education.
St Hugh's is a highly regarded coeducational day and boarding school with 350 pupils between the ages of 3 and 13. We are situated on a beautiful green campus of 40 acres in the South Oxfordshire countryside, only 25 minutes from Central Oxford. In June 2025, the Headmaster and Governors announced that St Hugh’s would be opening a Senior School in September 2026. It is a very exciting time to be joining St Hugh’s.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day nursing care for pupils in a school-based medical setting.
* Manage treatment plans and administer medication as required.
* Liaise with parents, staff and medical professionals to support pupil wellbeing.
* Contribute to safeguarding and health education initiatives.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with active NMC registration.
* Experience in paediatric, school or community nursing.
* Clinical judgement to work independently within a school setting.
