We have 3 vacancies for friendly, efficient and enthusiastic individuals to join our Soft Facilities Domestic team in Cardigan Integrated Care Centre, providing cleaning services to all stakeholders, who make use of the unit on a daily basis.


Main duties of the job

Soft Facilities Assistants are responsible for achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout all clinical and non clinical environments,.

The main duties on a day to day basis, include general cleaning of the clinical and non clinical areas, responding to requests for unscheduled cleaning and working as a team alongside clinical staff to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.


About us

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest.

Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.

Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).

Community facilities, including:

48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes.

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Person Specification


Qualifications and Knowledge

* Literate and numerate
* Basic Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling and Food Hygiene Knowledge
* Good level of general education
* Basic IT skills
* BICSc Cleaning
* Level 2 Food Safety Award
* Range of cleaning skills using mechanical equipment as appropriate


Experience

* Experience of dealing with the general public
* Some cleaning experience
* Cleaning experience in a similar establishment or one of a similar size
* Training in similar domestic duties
* Health and Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling training


Aptitudes and Abilities

* Demonstrates enthusiasm and a willingness to work as a Hotel Facilities Assistant
* Prepared to work alone
* Prepared to handle blood and body fluids
* Able to use own initiative
* Able to work as part of a team
* Prepared to be responsible for keys/security/alarm
* Honest and trustworthy


Language Skills

* Welsh Speaker (level 1)
