Our client, a notable entity within the Transmission & Distribution sector, is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Stirling. This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to assist Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in various commercial capacities, focusing on maximising profit and controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and produce transparent weekly and monthly cost value reconciliation processes to ensure accurate and timely information
Capture and allocate all relevant costs and liabilities
Maintain long-term relationships with internal and external teams for effective transfer of information, ensuring relationships meet business needs
Assist in managing opportunities and risks to the business, ensuring deviations from working practice are identified and highlighted
Assist the Quantity Surveyor in the development of commercial tenders, offers and contracts, and formal engagement with other companies
Identify and escalate inappropriate costs and continuously monitor transfers between business streams and contract cost centres where necessary
Identify commercial risks and escalate them to the Quantity Surveyor for early warning notices where appropriate
Record and track insurance claims
Ensure contract data and records are appropriately maintained and kept up to date
Capture and report direct labour payments; assist in drafting and awarding sub-contracts and assessing tenders
Share learning and commercial best practice to encourage continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and standards
