Job Description:
Are you a recent Psychology graduate seeking practical experience in a secondary school setting? Are you interested in a career in education, mental health, or educational psychology?
A welcoming secondary school in Rochdale is looking for a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students and gain classroom experience. This role is ideal for graduates passionate about helping young people and considering further training in related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support students both in and out of the classroom, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.
2. Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver interventions and support learning.
3. Assist with behaviour management and foster a positive learning environment.
4. Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students achieve academic and emotional goals.
5. Monitor student progress and contribute to planning and evaluation meetings.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Holds a degree in Psychology or a related field.
2. Has a genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their development.
3. Demonstrates patience, empathy, and good communication skills.
4. Is considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or counselling.
5. Experience working with children or young people (e.g., in schools, youth work, or care) is desirable but not essential.
