This is a remote first consultant post, with occasional in person clinics in Worcester or Redditch. The role focuses on senior assessment, diagnostic clarity, medication governance and complex case decision making in Adult and Children & Young Peoples ADHD and Adult ASD pathways.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team including GPs, mental health nurses, pharmacists and specialist clinicians, supporting safe, evidence based care within a primary care led model.
The successful candidate will be needed to work 1-2 PAs per week.
Main duties of the job
Senior psychiatric assessment and diagnostic clarification for complex Adult and CYP ADHD presentations
Consultantlevel input into Adult and CYP ASD assessments requiring specialist expertise
Oversight of medication initiation, titration and stabilisation in line with NICE NG87 & UKAAN guidance
Clinical leadership in MDT meetings; supervision and advice to clinicians across the service
Governance contributions including audit, medicines management and incident review
Consultant signoff for Shared Care readiness and communication with GP partners
Promote safe, effective remote psychiatric practice using EMIS and digital platforms

We are expanding our consultant workforce and are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to provide senior clinical leadership within our adult and paediatric neurodevelopmental pathways.
Job responsibilities The services currently include:
Adult ADHD assessment and ongoing clinical reviews, with medication titration delivered under appropriate prescribing governance and shared care with GPs where agreed.
Adult ASD diagnostic assessment pathway delivered through an MDT model.
Children and Young People (CYP) ADHD an assessment and diagnosis pathway (with onward treatment and medication pathways subject to commissioning and wider system arrangements).
Children and Young People (CYP) ASD a diagnostic assessment pathway delivered through a multidisciplinary model, aligned to national guidance and local commissioning arrangements.
This consultant post provides senior clinical leadership across both Adult and CYP neurodevelopmental pathways, supporting a GP led model with structured MDT involvement.

Person Specification
GMC registration with licence to practise
CCT in General Adult Psychiatry (or equivalent)
CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or equivalent)
Extensive experience in Adult and CYP ADHD assessment and treatment
Competence in ASD differential diagnosis
Strong psychopharmacology knowledge, including controlled drug prescribing
Confident working within a digital first clinical model
Strong safeguarding knowledge (adults)
UKAAN training (assessment or titration)
Experience in community or primary care led ADHD services
Audit, QI, teaching or supervisory experience
