Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of transformative transport infrastructure projects within the Greater Cambridge Partnership. This pivotal role is part of the City Deal initiative, aimed at driving sustainable growth and connectivity across the region. As a key figure in Programme, you will oversee major infrastructure schemes worth millions, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with community and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of empowerment, transparency, and innovation.
Programme Delivery: Manage complex transport projects from inception to completion, ensuring value for money and alignment with objectives.
Financial & Risk Oversight: Control budgets, monitor expenditure, and maintain live risk registers to ensure robust project governance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong partnerships with government bodies, local authorities, service providers, and community groups.
Qualifications:
HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Essential)
Professional membership (e.g., Chartered/Incorporated Engineer) (Desirable)
Management qualification (Desirable)
Experience & Knowledge:
Proven track record in leading major infrastructure projects
Strong financial and resource planning capabilities
Deep understanding of stakeholder management and public sector governance
Expertise in procurement, policy frameworks, and contract management
Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations
Experience working with elected officials and aligning projects with political priorities
