About the Role
Are you looking to take your nursing (RGN, RNLD, RMN), occupational therapy, paramedic, or physiotherapy career in a new direction? Do you want a role where your attention to detail, compassion, and empathy are valued, alongside a healthy work-life balance, education, and development opportunities into the medico-legal field? Or are you interested in transitioning into Occupational/Vocational pathways?
* You will assess up to four to six customers per day.
* Assessments will be conducted via paper, telephone, video, or face-to-face.
* Gather clinical observations, ask questions, and create detailed written reports.
* Reports will be passed to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), which will make decisions on customer support.
* You will assess a benefit called Employment and Support Allowance managed by DWP.
Training & Development
Customers will present with various clinical issues. You will receive industry-leading training provided by experienced clinical tutors. This training will equip you with the skills to support customers and adapt your current medical knowledge to this role.
Full training lasts approximately 6 months, during which you will be paid. Your registration with the RGN or HCPC will be maintained, with support for revalidation.
Post-training, you will have ongoing CPD, with over 100 hours protected annually, revalidation support, and career development opportunities within the organization. You will be assigned a clinical supervisor and have the opportunity to study for the Diploma in Disability Assessment Medicine accredited by the FOM.
Your Requirements
Applicants should be nurses, OTs, Paramedics, or Physiotherapists with at least 1 year of in-patient clinical experience. Strong computer and IT skills are preferred, including typing at 35 words per minute. Candidates must demonstrate high literacy, attention to detail, and adaptable communication skills.
